Success Stories

Bertha has been with the Casa Hogar since she was 4 years old. She is in the 7th grade, loves art and would like to study business administration. Bertha will be 17 in 2007 and has been able to return to live with her father while she continues her education. She has a dream of returning to the Casa Hogar in an administrative position helping other children. We are praying for the very best success in life for Bertha.

Carlito came to the casa hogar at 18 months, he was suffering from extreme malnutrition living on milk with out ever having any solid food. When Carlito was given soup or other soft foods he would throw up, today after tender care and proper nutrition he is becoming a healthy and happy child.

Jose Jr. (as he refers to himself) was the first child to enter the Casa Hogar at the age of 9. He had never been to school and he was working on the streets as a "flame thrower". Holding diesel fuel in his mouth, spewing it out and lighting it with a torch. If Jose had continued working the streets his future would have been early death, severe brain and lung damage or prison.

Today Jose' is a young adult with a masters electrician's license working for Emerson Electric. The following is a testimony in Jose's own words:

"HELLO ANGELITOS MI NOMBRE ES JOSE BENICNO BAHENA HERNANDEZ, O JOSE JR YO TAMBIEN VIVI EN LA CASA HOGAR. DE HECHO FUI EL PRIMERO, Y MI ESPERIENSIA DE VIVIR EN LA CASA HOGAR LOS ANGELITOS ME AYUDO MUCHO A PODER SALIR ADELANTE EN LA VIDA. POR EL MEJOR CAMINO DE DIOS Y POR ESO YO SIEMPRE ESTARE BIEN AGRADECIDO CON TODAS LAS PERSONAS QUE SE ESFUERSAN EN AYUDARLOS A USTEDES PARA QUE SALGAN A DELANTE ESPECIAL MENTE A NUESTRO PADRE DIOS QUE NUNCA NOSDEJA SOLOS, Y A MI FAMILIA NYSTROM POR QUE YO CUANDO MAS NECESITE DE ALGIEN QUE ME AYUDARA ELLOS ESTABAN AHI PARA AYUDARME, SIN NESECIDAD DE AYUDARME. MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS A TODOS CON MUCHO AMOR JOSE JR"
