As part of the educational, social development and cultural development the children are given opportunities to participate in a number of activities and programs.
Some of those programs include:
Cultural outings to museums, ecological areas, and historical sites such as visits to Mexico City, Colima Capital, archeological sites and turtle sanctuaries are provided.
Educational and vocational training such as music studies, art development, folkloric and classical dance, cosmetology, carpentry and language skills.
Athletic and physical activities are encouraged for coordination, sportsmanship, physical development and social interaction.
Retreats and personal development programs are included in the curriculum such as trips to national forest retreat areas for days of refreshing of mind, body and spirit. A favorite of the children is a retreat area with cabins, horses and outdoor activities which is approximately 3 hours from Manzanillo…Mazamitla.
The children of the Casa Hogar are also taught to give back to the community and to help those who are in need, these activities include their participation in the Ministries of Love outreach program, Guerrero outreach, Migrant worker outreach and old folks home.
